Children's Konkani movie to premiere in Atlanta, USA

PANAJI: The first of it’s kind Konkani children’s film - ‘Aaa Vai Jaa Saa’ is expected to hit movie theaters in July.‘Aaa Vai Jaa Saa’ stands for aaadhyatmik, vaignanik, jaatyateeth and saamajik. The movie, concerned with the holistic development and progress of the new generation, highlights the need for spiritual, social and cultural growth and progress of the youngsters.

The movie is informative, educative as also entertaining and is packed with fun and frolic including dance, puppetry and yakshagana. There are over 45 artists and Konkani dialects from Karnataka, Kerala, Maharastra and Goa in the film. The leading child artistes are Sarthak Shenoy, Shreyas Kamath, Samarth Shenoy and Spandana Pai. The film is directed by Dr K Ramesh Kamath. Camera work is by Ramesh Koira. Editing by Arun P Thomas and digital interface by Mathew. The film is produced under the banner of Film India Productions. The film will be the first Konkani Film to be premiered at Konkani Sammelana-16, at Atlanta, Georgia, USA on July 2, where over 2500 Konkani delegates are expected. Atharva and Kamakshi of Merces have also participated in this film.

NFF, GRE ridicule plan to amend CRZ

The National Fishworkers’ Forum (NFF) and Goenchea Ramponkarancho Ekvott (GRE) have criticised the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for planning to amend the rnCoastal Regularization Zone (CRZ) by reducing the ‘no development buffer zone’ to merely 50 mtrs.
