The three accused involved in the stabbing of Chimbel Panch Mohan Narve, continued to abscond even as the Old Goa Police got two-days remand of the fourth arrested accused, Saneel Naik.
Panch Narve, who is recuperating at GMC Hospital in Bambolim, was stabbed on the eve of Diwali by a supporter of his close rival Adam, while watching a Narkasur at Chimbel.
According to reliable sources, Adam with his supporters arrived at the spot where a Narkasur was sponsored by Narve and arguments broke out between the two.
As the arguments heated up, one of the supporters of Adam allegedly stabbed Narve from behind and fled from the scene.
Sources informed that Adam owes Narve some money, due to which there is constant bickering between the two. Also, Adam's wife Rosy Uttikuri is also a panch and part of the ruling panel in the Chimbel Panchayat, while Narve and his panchas are part of the opposition.
Old Goa Police were able to arrest one of the accused Saneel Naik on the same day.
ASI Dessai is conducting further investigations in
the case.
