The Chinchinim Primary Health Centre (PHC) on Saturday got it state-of-the-art, fully air-conditioned facility, marking a significant leap forward in patient comfort and healthcare efficiency. This pioneering upgrade, the first of its kind for a primary health centre in Goa, was unveiled by Velim MLA Cruz Silva, in the presence of Chinchinim panchayat members, PHC in-charge Dr Nixon Fernandes, Fr Victor Viegas, PHC staff, and local residents.

Funded through the MLA Local Area Development (MLA-LAD) Fund, the Velim MLA said this vital enhancement ensures a more comfortable and conducive environment for both patients seeking care and the healthcare professionals dedicated to serving them. He said the Chinchinim PHC is a cornerstone of community health, providing a comprehensive suite of essential medical services, including, General Outpatient Department (OPD), Emergency Services, Efficient Pharmacy and Laboratory services, Specialised Eye OPD, Dedicated Dental OPD and Integrated Ayurvedic and Homeopathic OPDs.

The Velim MLA lauded the unwavering dedication and exceptional service of Dr Nixon Fernandes and the entire PHC staff, who have consistently delivered quality care even within the constraints of limited space.

He underscored the critical need for accessible, continuous healthcare, assuring residents that the long-awaited proposed Emergency Care Centre is on track to become a reality soon. “This expansion will be a crucial step towards providing comprehensive 24x7 healthcare services to the community,” he said.

Expressing his sincere gratitude, MLA Silva acknowledged the crucial support and approval of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane in realising this significant upgrade. Reaffirming his strong commitment to the well-being of his constituents, MLA Silva pledged his continued efforts towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure for the people of Velim and surrounding areas.
