Congress Secretary Girish Chodankar has reacted sharply to Vijai Sardesai calling him a ‘Bondo’ (hollow coconut) saying that Sardesai’s lineage made him prone to make such statements against the Bahujan Samaj.
“It is ‘bhatkar’ & ‘Manu Vrutti’ mentality in Sardesai. Youth like me from Bahujan Samaj who have come up in life and politics through sheer self-determination and hard work have got used to such derogatory language from such mindsets as demonstrated by the TCP Minister,” Chodankar said.
“I don’t blame Sardesai for this personal and insulting comment as the Minister has inherited it from generation to generation as the Bahujan Samaj was always taunted as ‘bondo’ or ‘Bahujan Samaj Buddh Dhoprant’ (the Bahujan Samaj have their brains in their knees).
While reacting to the TCP Minister’s statement calling him ‘Bondo’, Girish Chodankar said, “It is not my fault that I was born in a poor family of Bahujan Samaj. Despite this, I have completed my post-graduation and joined the teaching profession and worked at the national level for the Congress party.”
Referring to Chodankar’s claim that importing coconuts from Sri Lanka was an insult to Goenkarponn, Vijai said on Twitter: “First they say there is coconut shortage and I am doing nothing! If I say what I have in mind they come up with a conspiracy theory! So what do these scam ridden ‘bonde’ exactly want me to do? Or is it just for cheap publicity?”
Referring to another comment by Chodankar who claimed that if he was agriculture minister the coconut situation would be different, Sardesai said: “Who will make @girishgoa minister now? He knows how they missed the bus in # Goa, they also missed the flight in # Gujarat. So it’s best he tries his luck in #Karnataka, where the screening committee for Congress tickets is yet to be formed! But Coconut is not Congress tickets!” Sardesai tweeted.
Chodankar drew attention to the fact that the present Government is controlled and dominated by four politicians namely Manohar Parrikar, Vijai Sardesai, Rohan Khaunte and Siddharth Kuncalienkar. Everyone knows how former Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar was controlled and was later defeated, how Ramesh Tawadkar and Anant Shet were denied tickets at the last minute to accommodate Vijay Pai Khot and Pravin Zantye and how Damu Naik, Ganesh Gaonkar, Dilip Parulekar and Dayanand Mandrekar were defeated.
“It is also well-known fact that Shripad Naik who promoted BJP in Goa has been treated and sidelined and was never allowed to become Chief Minister. On Government recruitment front also it is an open secret how top positions got manipulated,” he said.
