On the occasion of World Health Day, a blood donation camp was held at Manipal Hospital, Dona Paula on Saturday.

One blood donation can save up to three precious lives. Blood to save lives is perhaps the need of the hour. The compassionate choice of blood donation can have healthy lifestyle benefits for the donor as well. Donating blood can reveal potential health problems, can reduce harmful iron stores, can lower your risk of suffering a heart attack, can reduce your risk of developing cancer, can help your liver stay healthy and also have several other health benefits.
As donating blood leads to a healthy lifestyle, on the occasion of World Health Day and Yi Healthcare Month, Young Indians–Goa Chapter, the Youth Wing of Confederation of Indian Industry –Goa State, in association with Manipal Hospitals Goa organised a blood donation camp at the blood bank of Manipal Hospital, Goa.
Surendra Prasad, Director, Manipal Hospitals Goa, and Vaikunth Dempo – Chair, Young Indians, Goa Chapter donated blood along with several other members of the Young Indians Goa Chapter and Confederation of Indian Industry - Goa State.
Dr Shekhar Salkar, Chief, Oncology Dept, Manipal Hospitals Goa spoke on the occasion on the need and benefits of donating blood leading to saving precious lives and also leading to a healthy life style. Also present on the occasion were Pratiksha N Khalap, CoChair, Young Indians Goa Chapter, Anirudh Agrawal, Vice-Chairman, CII Goa State Council, Dr Aditya Gosawi, Medical Superintendent and Dr Dhaval Fadadu, Blood Bank Incharge, Hariprasad Marketing & Sales Head. [All of Manipal Hospitals Goa], Cecil Pinto, Executive Member Of CII Goa, Rohit Zantye, ex Chair CII Young Indians and Neha Zantye and other prominent members. Around 18 CII-YI Youth donated their blood.
