The Pilerne-Marra Panchayat has developed a Jogger’s cum Children’s Park in the open space at Nova Cidade Enclave behind PDA colony in Porvorim.
Providing more details about the park, Pilerne Ward 6 Panch Karan Govenkar said there had been a demand from residents of Nova Cidade Enclave and nearby areas to develop this open space into a Jogger’s cum Children’s park as there were no recreation facilities for senior citizens and children in the area.
“So, the Panchayat decided to develop the Jogger’s cum Children’s park in an open space of 2,900 sq. mtrs at a cost of Rs 71 lakh.”
“A stage has also been constructed at the Jogger’s park for cultural programmes. The work will be completed within the next 15 days.”
“This project was started in December 2019, but work was held up for almost a year and half due to the Covid pandemic. It is my dream project which will benefit senior citizens and children,” said Govenkar.
