Chief Justice of India S A Bobde will inaugurate the new building of High Court of Bombay at Goa in the presence of Union Minister for Law and Justice, Ravi Shankar Prasad, CM Sawant and other dignitaries on March 27 at Penha de Franca, Porvorim.
Besides five Supreme Court judges, around 62 judges of Bombay High Court and its benches in Aurangabad, Nagpur and Goa will be attending the inaugural function.
The new HC building comprises seven courtrooms, chambers for Chief Justice and judges, chambers for Registrar General and Assistant Registrar General, court halls and conference hall for judges, record room, visitors room, storeroom, etc.
It also has provision for basement parking and the building os constructed to keep it sustainable and green. The foundation stone for the new high court complex was laid on December in December 2013.
