Cleanliness drive concludes in Khola
CANACONA: Khola village culminated its week-long cleanliness movement on Sunday, as various authorities called to make it a day-to-day practice rather than one-day activity.
ADEI Canacona, who was the special invitee to witness the villagers' participation, explained the importance of cleaning. “Cleanliness begins by keeping your houses clean and avoiding usage of plastics,” he said.
October 2, also observed as Swacch Bharat day, was attended by Khola Sarpanch Ajay Pagi, Deputy Sarpanch Vanita Naik and almost all panchas.
Animal Husbandry officer Dr Lench and ex-ZP member Krishna Velip were also present.
Later, a 'Path Natya,' a folk play, was presented by students of Gorukul middle school.
All 11 primary schools and two high schools along with teachers and parents cleaned the villages, including Cabo de Rama Fort and others places.
