The accused, a former security guard at Jasmine Apartment of Sapna Raj Valley Residential Complex at Bella Vista in Sangolda where Monika Ghurde lived, was brought from Bangalore to Goa by road on Monday evening.

According to police sources, Singh will be sent for a medical check-up at GMC on Tuesday morning and will later be produced for remand before the JMFC on Tuesday.

Ghurde was found murdered in her flat on Thursday and the body was found semi-nude in the bedroom with the hands tied to the headrest of the bed.

Police on Sunday arrested Singh at Bengaluru (Bangalore) in connection with the killing of Ghurde. The accused is a native of Bhatinda, Punjab.

It had come to light that the murder was fuelled by revenge and an acute need for money faced by Singh, who was dismissed from his employment following Ghurde’s complaint against him to the management of the residential society three months ago.
