CM: Happy with progress on tourism front

CM Parsekar called for increasing Goa’s brand value as destination not just for leisure tourism but also for events and called for increased efforts in the direction.

Speaking after throwing open the Goa Food and Cultural Festival, CM said that he was happy with the progress the State has made in attracting tourists of different hues.   
“Goa needs to expand beyond the coast and the cities to a very different form of tourism. Goa needs to be a festival and events destination,” Parsekar said.   
Also present was Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar, Chief Secretary S K Srivastava, and others.

Tourists assaulted at Nerul for attacking local taxi driver

Tension prevailed at Nerul in Bardez late Wednesday evening, after tourists from Maharashtra allegedly assaulted a local taxi driver, leading to clashes between both the parties.

SALIGAO  According to a reliable source, the tourists allegedly assaulted a local driver, one ‘Bappa’, over the issue of overtaking a vehicle.
