During the inauguration of the BJP North Goa election office in Mapusa on Wednesday, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant hinted at the candidature of Shripad Naik for the upcoming North Goa Lok Sabha elections. Naik, who currently serves as the sitting MP and Union Minister of State for Tourism, is being touted as a potential candidate.
Sawant remarked, "Ticket for the North Goa seat will be given to the candidate which people want. Everyone knows who that is. Due to some restrictions, I can't take his name at this moment." He further emphasized the lack of enthusiasm within the Congress party, stating, "Nobody in Congress is willing to contest from North Goa because they know that they will lose."
