Over one lakh rickshaw drivers and motorcycle pilots who have completed over 15 years in profession would be eligible for receiving a monthly income of Rs 2,000 under the scheme The state government had last week notified a scheme to include 16 traditional occupations including auto rickshaws, local sweet makers (Khazekar), local gram sellers (Chanekar), local pyrotechnicians and fireworks specialists (Foger, fogeri), coconut toddy tappers (render) and motorcycle pilots. Chief Minister Parsekar on Sunday presented the scheme forms to hundreds of auto rickshaw drivers and motorcycle pilots.
