CM raises alarm over influence of ‘Urban Naxalites’ in State

Says these elements are sowing discord based on religion and caste

PANAJI
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed concern over the influence of Urban Naxalites who, he claimed, are spread across the country to divert attention from crucial developmental issues. These elements, the CM said, are also making their presence in Goa by trying to sow discord among the people based on religion and caste.

“Urban Naxalites are involved in various unnecessary issues... Notwithstanding all this, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is focused on the four pillars being Mahila Shakti (women empowerment), Yuva Shakti (youth empowerment), Kisan Shakti (farmers empowerment), and Garib Kalyan (welfare of the poor) to bring about positive change,” he said while addressing BJP Morcha office bearers in Panaji on Saturday.

He further elaborated that a scheme introduced for the fourth pillar “ “One Nation One Ration Card” has proved a boon for the economically weaker section as they can collect their free ration from any state in India.

CM Sawant also urged citizens to be cautious and not be swayed by divisive politics. “Urban Naxalism may be prevalent in different parts of the country, including Goa, but we must not allow them to disrupt the harmony,” he reiterated, adding that the government is working tirelessly to uplift all sections of society, irrespective of religious or caste affiliations.

Addressing further, the CM called upon party workers and office bearers to create awareness about the achievements and various initiatives of PM Modi over the past decade.

“We must support PM Modi. Creating awareness and, if possible, conducting presentations on the achievements of the last 10 years under PM Modi’s leadership is crucial. People must be well-informed about these achievements. We cannot afford to remain isolated; otherwise, Urban Naxalites may question, ‘Ab Ki Tayari Hai Na?’ We should confidently say, “Hamari Tayari Hai,” he stated.

The CM expressed concern that people associated with Urban Naxalites are currently present in Goa. “We should not allow them to divide us based on caste or religion,” he added.
