Chief Minister Pramod Sawant voiced the need to appeal to over 1,000 government employees who have recently recovered from Covid-19 to come forward and donate their plasma. CM was speaking at a comprehensive review meeting convened with the officers-in-charge of all Covid Care Centres in Goa over video conferencing
During the meeting, the discussion also focussed on the fact that more than 1,000 recovered Covid patients are officials of various departments of the state government. CM impressed upon North Goa Collector R Menaka and South Goa Collector Ajit Roy the need to coordinate with respective departments in requesting the concerned staff members to come forward and donate their plasma.
Sawant further directed the officers in charge of Covid Care Centres to ensure that all issues, especially those concerning food and hygiene, are resolved promptly in order to avoid any inconvenience to patients. He also highlighted the urgent need to create awareness among recovered patients to donate convalescent plasma.
He also took a report regarding the availability of doctors, ambulance, occupancy of beds, disposal of medical waste and security arrangement.
Goa presently has around 15 Covid Care Centers which include Calangute Residency and Annex, Sai Girls Hostel, Dr Shyam Prasad Mukerjee Stadium, Panaji Residency, Keshav Seva Sadhana Vathadev, MPT hospital, Margao Residency, Colva Residency, Indoor Stadium at Fatorda, PHC Shiroda, GEC hostel, Mandovi hostel and IIT Goa hostel.

Shripad shifted to non-Covid ward
PANAJI:
Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik has been shifted out of the ICU to a non-Covid ward for further treatment on the advice of experts from All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS), New Delhi. Although Naik’s latest Covid test reports have come back positive, the medical experts have opined that he has passed the stage during which a patient can transmit the virus to others.
