Collector finalises pay parking fees for Miramar, St Inez areas

Almost a year after notifying the fourth phase of pay parking in Panaji, covering areas like Miramar and St Inez, the North Goa Collector has finally announced its implementation by finalizing the parking fees for the vehicles.

In August, last year, the district magistrate notified new areas for pay parking that included Miramar Circle, near Sulabh Toilet (Miramar Beach), near Maruti Temple, Miramar, the stretch of road from Caculo Islands near Pharmacy College via St Inez Church up to Culvert near Thomas Garage at St Inez (Mahatma Gandhi road and Vassudev V Dempo road), the stretch of road from St Inez Cemetery upto High Mast near Madhuban building St Inez, Dr Dada Vaidya road, Dr Braganza Pereira road (Municipal Quarters to Kala Academy/D. B. road) and Gama Pinto road (Municipal Quarters to Hotel Palacio).

On Wednesday, the District magistrate notified the pay parking fees. The fee for two wheeler parking upto four hours is Rs 4, for four hours to 12 hours is Rs 8, and for 12 hours and less than 24 hours, it is Rs 15.

The fee for parking for four wheelers, upto one hour is Rs 20 and for every extra hour or part, the fee is Rs 15.

The first phase of pay parking was introduced in 2019, followed by the second phase in 2020. In January, this year, the third phase came into force.
