Vasco police have booked four people after receiving counter complaints of abuse and assault in Baina-Vasco on Tuesday night.

According to a complaint filed by Sharnay Palkar, the incident took place near Marine Electrical, Baina, at around 11.30 pm.

Palkar claimed that one of the accused, Shiva Harijan, who was drunk at the time, tried to hit him with a stone in a fit of anger. Palkar managed to dodge the stone, but Harijan allegedly then attacked him with a knife on the head, causing minor injuries.

Based on this complaint, Vasco police registered a case under Sections 324 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

In a counter complaint, Sandhya Chauhan alleged that Sharnay Palkar, Saish Thapa, and Toufiq — all from Vasco — verbally abused her husband, Shiva Harijan, at around 1 am.

She claimed that Palkar forced his way into their home, pulled Harijan out, and, along with the other two, beat him up with fists and kicks. Thapa allegedly hit Harijan on the leg with an empty gas cylinder, causing injuries.

The trio also reportedly threatened Sandhya, her husband, and a neighbour.

Police have registered this second case under Sections 352, 329(4), 118(2), 115(2), read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.

Both cases are being investigated under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and the guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
