Collector of South Goa urged to keep transfers in Comunidade on hold

With the beleaguered employees of the South Goa Administrator of Comunidades knocking the doors of the Administrator to keep their transfers on hold pending payment of their nine-month salaries, the Administrator has written a letter to the South District Collector, with a request to keep the transfer orders in abeyance.

In a letter addressed to the South District Collector, the Administrator of Communidades, South Deepesh Priolkar requested that the transfer orders of the staff be keeping in abeyance and may be effected as soon as their salary issue is resolved permanently.
Priolkar’s move comes after the beleaguered employees, who have not received their salaries since June 2016, had petitioned him on humanitarian grounds, until the issue of salary payment is sorted out in its entirety.
The staff had claimed several financial hardships due to the non payment of salaries for the last nine months.
The employees pointed that while the authorities had utilized their services in the just concluded Assembly election and are now bracing up to effect their transfers, the government has failed to pay their salaries for nine months. “We too are human beings and have families and children to look after. Only we know how we have been surviving without salaries since the last nine months,” remarked an employee.
Incidentally, when the media had taken up the salary payment issue with Revenue Minister, Rohan Khaunte during his visit to the District Collectorate, he had said that the issue is under the consideration of the Parrikar-led government.
