Colvale Police on Sunday arrested two persons involved in bike theft after local residents of Moira apprehended and handed them over to the police the previous day.
The accused Shantanu Aman Chari and Sivam Vishnu Mayekar involved in the theft of a Yamaha motorcycle are presently cooling their heels in the police lock-up.
According to police, some locals caught hold of the two alleged accused on Saturday evening suspected of having been involved in the theft of a motorcycle.
While conducting an inquiry the owner of the motorcycle identified the motorcycle which was stolen from outside his residence.
Police informed that the two accused confessed to committing the crime and accordingly both were booked under relevant sections of the IPC and placed under arrest.
Further investigation is on.
