Colvale Police arrested an employee of a company on charges of committing theft of a splicing machine worth Rs 1.77 lakh.
The accused, Satish Rathod, of Bijapur-Karnataka was nabbed by a team of Covale Police Station which was sent to the neighbouring State.
Police informed that the accused was working for United Telecoms Ltd which has an office at Altinho, Panaji.
The accused allegedly committed the theft of the splicing machine along with its accessories from the guest house of the company situated at Fernando vaddo, Assonora.
A team headed by Head Constable Ajay Gaonkar and Sudhir Parab and Police Constables, Sulesh Naik and Sadashiv Parab began investigation and tracked the accused to his home town Bijapur, Karnataka.
The accused was nabbed from Bijapur and the stolen property was also recovered.
He was arrested under section 381 of the IPC. Police are investigating further.
