A day after the first charter flight of the tourism season arrived with 218 Russian passengers and crew in the State, Concord Exotic
Voyages (CEV) on Saturday announced plans to bring in as many as 9,000 foreign
tourists per month the State.
Stating this, CEV vice-president Sheik Ismail also said the first Jumbo charter flight would arrive in the State on October 13.
“We are bringing in Russian tourists in association with the Russian Tour Operator Biblio Globus. Every year, we bring the first charter flight into Goa, but this year our summer destinations did well and that is one reason why we scheduled our aircraft from October 13 onwards.”
“Though we may not have brought the first charter flight to Goa, we will still bring the first Jumbo Jet charter flight into Goa, with the Rossiya Airlines Jumbo Jet set to arrive on
October 13,” said Ismail.
“We plan to bring in four charter flights per week. We will continue to bring charter flights till
May 2020. Considering that every jumbo jet charter flight has a passenger capacity of 522 passengers, we expect to bring around 2,000 tourists per week. Hence, we are likely to bring in around 8500 passengers per month into Goa.”
“We have already made necessary arrangements for the first set of
passengers arriving on October 13. Besides, CEV is also trying to bring an additional Kazakhstan flight for
this tourism season,” he added.
It may be recalled that Royal Airways, the first charter flight of the season, had brought in 218 Russian passengers and crew in Goa on Friday. The flight and logistics had been handled by the Caper Travel agency.
