Meet aimed at strengthening Kushavati committee

As part of the ongoing Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan, a key organisational meeting was held in Canacona with local leadership and dedicated karyakartas of the Kushavati district.
The meeting was chaired by Vijendra Singhla, AICC Observer and In-charge for Kushavati District. Singhla, who also serves as the Joint Treasurer of the All India Congress Committee, was joined by President of the Goa Pradesh Youth Congress Archit Naik and President of the Mahila Congress Pratiksha Khalap.
The interactions focused on gathering grassroots feedback, understanding the viewpoints of senior leaders and active workers, and discussing strategies to strengthen and restructure the Kushavati District Committee.
Importantly, the appointment of the new district president was also on the agenda, with detailed discussions held to ensure that the selection reflects commitment, capability, and acceptance among the cadre. Singhla emphasised the importance of organisational discipline, unity, and collective leadership. He assured that the formation of the new district committee, including the appointment of the district president, will be carried out in a transparent and inclusive manner, taking into account the voice of the grassroots workers.
Chetan Desai, Chairman of Dnyan Prabodhini Mandal, which runs the Shree Mallikarjun & Chetan Manju Desai College, Canacona, and a former president of Goa Cricket Association, was a prominent participant in Friday’s Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan of the Congress party.
Madadev Desai, a Congress rebel in the last Assembly elections who contested on the Trinamool Congress ticket, was also present.
The other prominent Congress leaders in the Abhiyan included Janardhan Bhandari, Canacona Block President Abel Borges, GPYC State Vice-President Vaishnav Pednekar, GPCC South Goa District Gen Secretary Gaspar Coutinho, GPYC South Goa District President Pralay Bhagat, Canacona Block Youth Congress Committee President Manesh Naik Gaonkar, NSUI President Canacona Harsh Desai, and others.
