MARGAO
Saying the Congress is not serious in the election for the two Lok Sabha seats, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the Congress top leadership has not joined the campaign in support of the two candidates since they are aware of the wave is in favour of the BJP.
Sawant said both Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao and South Goa candidate Viriato Fernandes should understand why the Congress leadership have not come down to Goa for campaigning.
“Captain Viriato has insulted the Constitution and the freedom fighters. The Congress will be taught a lesson not just in Goa, but across the country in the Lok Sabha polls,” he asserted.
He added: “The BJP swear by the Constitution of India. The people will not keep quit. The Congress will have to face the wrath of the people for insulting the Constitution across the country.”
CM predicts BJP win in North by one lakh votes, South by 60,000
MARGAO: Predicting that Goa would register over 70 per cent polling on May 7, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has reiterated that the BJP will win the North Goa seat by one lakh vote margin and the South Goa seat by 60,000 votes.
He said the BJP is fighting the elections for the two Lok Sabha seats on the plank of development backed by a strong party organisation.
“I am not ready to even concede 10,000 less votes for Shripad Naik in North Goa and Pallavi Dempo in South. Both will win the election by a margin of one lakh votes and 60,000 votes respectively,” he said, adding that Goa will beat the poll per cent on May 7 by recording 70 per cent polling.
He said the people of Goa will vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development agenda, adding that the BJP organisation is working overtime towards the party victory in both North and South Goa. “People of Goa will vote for the Prime Minister’s development, the development ushered by my government and the work of the party MLAs in the State,” he added.
MARGAO: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said the May 7 Lok Sabha elections is not exactly a referendum on the performance of his government, saying he had undergone the test and won the confidence of the people of Goa in the 2022 Assembly election.
