In a last ditch attempt to block the so-called seat adjustment with rival Goa Forward Party vis-Ã -vis the Fatorda seat, a delegation of the Fatorda block Congress panel called on AICC general secretary in-charge of Goa desk Digvijaiya Singh on Monday evening and vehemently opposed any move by the party to leave the Fatorda seat to Vijai Sardesai.
The delegation led by Block president Joseph Silva tried to impress upon Singh that the Congress should leave the Fatorda seat for the Catholic Scheduled Tribe given its sizeable population in the constituency.
Joseph told The Goan after calling on Singh that the delegation explained to the AICC general secretary how Congress members have put the Fatorda block into place brick by brick, making it a formidable block in entire Goa.

“We have told him that the Congress should not leave the ST community high and dry as the Congress has not given any ticket for the Catholic scheduled tribe community in he state”, he said.
Replying to a question, Joseph said Digvijai did not given any assurance on their demand, only promising that the issue will be discussed with state party leader later tonight and a decision will be unveiled on Tuesday morning.
While expressing the hope that the Congress leadership will respect the sentiments of the Fatorda block members as well as the ST community, Joseph said the block members will unveil its road map if the party goes ahead with the sea sharing arrangement with the Goa Forward for the Fatorda seat.
