Congress alleges voter deletions during roll revision in Vasco

VASCO

Vasco Congress leader Nandadeep Raut on Wednesday alleged that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) was used as a “systematic ploy” by the Bharatiya Janata Party to delete the names of voters believed to support opposition parties. He announced a large ward-wise campaign to help affected residents restore their names to the electoral roll.

Speaking to media persons in Vasco, Raut claimed that several genuine voters found their names missing during the revision process.

“This is not an administrative mistake but a planned move to target voters who are seen as supporters of the opposition. Democracy cannot function if names are selectively deleted under political pressure,” he said.

Raut said the Congress would launch a door-to-door drive in all wards to collect documents from those whose names were removed and help them submit the required forms for re-inclusion.

“We will make sure that every affected voter submits the necessary documents. Our teams will visit each ward, check details and work with election officials to restore the names as soon as possible,” he said.

He assured residents that the party would stand by them and oppose any attempt to interfere with the electoral process. “No genuine voter should suffer because of political interference. We will not allow names to be removed due to pressure. If needed, we are ready to take up the matter at every appropriate forum,” Raut added.

He also urged citizens to check their names in the electoral list without delay and asked those affected to contact local Congress workers for help. “Every vote matters. We will fight to protect the voting rights of the people of Vasco,” he said.
