PANAJI: Congress leader Amit Patkar has questioned his exclusion from the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting chaired by AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, claiming that he was not invited to attend the meeting while Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar says an invite was sent to him.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Patkar said he received neither a formal nor an informal invitation. “The question should be directed to GPCC President Girish Chodankar. He may have forgotten due to his growing age. I was present at the last PAC meeting,” Patkar said.
Asked whether an invitation may have been sent to another phone number, Patkar said he uses only one phone number for all forms of communication.
However, Girish Chodankar rejected Patkar’s claim and said an invitation had been sent to him. “There is video evidence. If any person says that he has not received the invitation despite it being sent, then he is lying,” Chodankar said.
Chodankar further stated that GPCC Working President M.K. Shaikh had contacted him several times and had also sent text messages regarding the meeting.
