Koti Tirth Corridor moves ahead with illumination work

Saptakoteshwar temple in Divar to get new lighting

PANAJI

Nearly a year after the Pramod Sawant-led Cabinet cleared the Koti Tirth Corridor project at the historic Saptakoteshwar temple site on Divar, the government has begun work on its first visible component.

The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (GSIDC) has invited quotations for external illumination at the site. The estimated cost is Rs 5.62 lakh.

The tender seeks contractors, authorised dealers and service providers for the “Development of the Koti Tirth Corridor at the Site of Shri Saptakoteshwar at Divar, Tiswadi — External Illumination Work”.

Sealed quotations must be submitted by August 19, when the bids will also be opened. The selected contractor will have one month to complete the work from the date of the work order or letter of acceptance.

The work carries a three-year defect liability period, during which the contractor must rectify defects and carry out required maintenance.

GSIDC has fixed a 5 per cent security deposit, including the earnest money. Half will be released after the first year, 25 per cent after the second year and the balance after the liability period, as prescribed.

Delay will attract liquidated damages of Rs 1,500 per day, capped at 10 per cent of the original quotation

price.

The tender follows Cabinet approval of the project based on an Archaeology Department report on

the site.
