Digvijay gives new faces fresh hope, says selection process to conclude by Sept

The selection of candidates is expected to conclude by August or September. “The listing will begin at the block level, and names will be suggested to the respective district committees. These committees will then recommend the shortlisted names to GPCC,” stated Digvijay while addressing a high-level executive committee meeting of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee held in Panaji on Wednesday.
While flagging off the party’s internal electoral activities, the senior Congressman said the consultation process of candidates should be complete by August to September. “With eight sitting MLAs, there is a possibility of 32 new faces to be selected on the criteria of competency, image, winnability and loyalty to the party,” Singh stated.
Referring to the rebellion by younger Congressmen, he stressed that the grand old party has always supported younger people. He said, “We have to balance the old and the young because of the sensitivity of Goan politics.”
