Speaking during the Zero Hour, Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavalekar had raised the issue of increasing thefts and robberies.
In a recent incident three policemen were found with beer bottles in their official vehicle. "The police were not drunk. We carried out their blood test. If we have to take action, we have to give them opportunity and follow the principle of natural justice. There was no alcohol found in their blood," he revealed.
"I will not tolerate child abuse, drugs, sex, drinking and indiscipline. Police cannot do this while on duty and if anyone is found doing this I will initiate strict action," he stated. Speaking about the incident, he said, "I strongly object to the three beer bottles found in their car.
Finding beer bottles is a punishable offence."
Cops drinking on duty will not be tolerated, warns CM
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has said that strict action would be initiated against police personnel who are undisciplined and also those who are found drinking on duty.
