Cortalim MLA Anton Vas along with panch members of Cortalim panchayat on Sunday felicitated Manfill Ferrao for having won a gold medal in basketball at the recent Special Olympics in Berlin.
Vas also offered a cheque for Rs 10,000 as financial assistance to Ferrao in the presence of his family members.
Speaking to reporters, Vas said it was a matter of great pride for Cortalim Constituency that Manfill Ferrao had won a gold medal at the Special Olympics.
“I also want to congratulate the family as well for having taken so much efforts to have provided good education to Manfill and even motivating him to play basketball and boost his spirit. His late father had been my classmate. As MLA of Cortalim, I will always support him and his family. CM Pramod Sawant has already assured the medallist of government jobs and I will follow this up with the government,” said Vas.
