Canacona police registered two counter-complaints in connection with two senior citizens at their shops in the Shristhal panchayat building late Monday evening.
In the first complaint, Canacona police stated the accused persons, Kusta Velip and Bhisso Velip, both from Shristhal, with their common intention threatened the complainant and 41 others with dire consequences.
Thereafter, they are alleged to have used force to push the complainant and one more woman and by touching them inappropriately, there by outraging the modesty of the complainant and one more woman.
Canacona Police registered the complaint U/s 351(2).74 r/w 3(5) of BNS 2023 and further investigation is being conducted by Canacona LPSI Anuradha Dessai.
In the second FIR, Canacona police informed that Chadrashekhar Velip of Shristhal complained that a group of accused persons, also from Shristhal, had formed an unlawful assembly and abused the father of the complainant, Kusta Velip and one Bhisso Velip.
The accused then assaulted both of them with slaps, fist blows, wooden danda and metal lock thereby causing injuries to Kusta Velip and Bhisso Velip.
Canacona Police registered an FIR U/s 115(2),118(1),352, 189(2), 191(2),191(3) r/w 190 of BNS 2023 and further investigation is being conducted by Canacona PSI Ramdas Doifode.
Later while addressing a news conference at Shristhal, Goa Forward Party (GFP) General Secretary Prashant Naik and GFP Environment Cell Chairman Vikas Bhagat informed that a group of men and women assaulted two senior citizens Kusta Velip and Bhisso Velip by trespassing into their shops at Shristhal panchayat building late Monday evening over a civil 'Garwai' issue.
Alleging that a government official was linked to the assault on Kusta Velip and Bhisso Velip, Prashan Naik demanded the immediate suspension of the official as well as action on all those involved in the assault.
