Residents in Colamb-Canacona are facing acute difficulties due to recurring water and electricity supply issues in their area.
Residents have been complaining that despite the ongoing monsoon season, the water supply has been irregular for the past four days.
“This is due to the failure of authorities/staff to pump water from the main tank in a timely manner,” complained Abhay Dhuri.
“Moreover, electricity supply has been very erratic for the past five days, with frequent power trips. We have lodged complaints with the department concerned, but no concrete action has been taken to resolve these issues.”
According to another Colamb resident, their daily lives have been severely impacted, and the tourism business, which is just in its nascent stage for the upcoming season, is likely to suffer further.
They have appealed to Sports Minister and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar to intervene in this matter and ensure that water and electricity supply are restored to normalcy immediately, and to take necessary steps to prevent such disruptions in the future.
