A man and his wife died when two scooters collided against each other near Maruti temple at Virlosa-Britona.According to Porvorim Police, a resident of Bicholim was proceeding on his scooter (GA-04-B-2502) from Britona towards Malim, when he dashed against the oncoming scooter (GA-03-AB-1339) near Maruti Mandir at Virlosa, knocking down Trimbak Naik (64) and his wife Nilima (62).

Police said all the three persons who had sustained grievous injuries were shifted to GMC Hospital at Bambolim for medical treatment. However, Trimbak and his wife Nilima were declared dead on arrival.Porvorim Police have registered an offence against the scooter rider from Bicholim under Sections 279, 337 and 338 for rash and negligent driving.
