Library awards presented
PANAJI: Minister for Art and Culture Dayanand Mandrekar presented Goa State Best Library and Best Librarian Awards to Bookworm, Taleigao; Carlos Fernandes, curator of Central Library for the year 2014-2015 at Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto. Daulat Hawaldar secretary (Art and Culture ) was the guest of honor.
Mandrekar congratulated Bookworm for efforts to connect with youth by initiating modern medium like e-reading, when in today’s life people are busy with mobile phones and television. He also congratulated Carlos Fernandes.
Hawaldar congratulated both the award winners and said that it is a great task they are involved in.
The director of Art and Culture Prasad Lolayekar welcomed. Sujata Noronha of Bookworm received a certificate, memento and cash award, while Carlos Fernandes was awarded with memento, certificate and cash award also. Deputy director of Art and Culture Ashok Parab proposed the vote of thanks.
