When the Goan contacted Chief Officer Y B Tawde to shed light on the Chairperson s note to place the LDC under suspension, he said his office is examining the note and will take necessary action. “Yes, the Chairperson has put up a note stating that the office may consider suspension of the LDC. I am examining the matter and due action will be taken in the course of time,” Tawde said.Replying to another question, the MMC Chief Officer said he has lodged a complaint with the Margao police to investigate the fake birth certificates racket in the light of the fact that the civic body had never issued the non-availability certificate to Renuka Tehsildar to obtain court order for her birth registration. “I have not named anyone in the racket. Let the Margao police investigate into the issue and book the culprits,” Tawde said.Meanwhile, Margao PI C L Patil told The Goan that since the police had already registered a case of cheating and forgery against Renuka Tehsildar in connection with the case, there s no need to register a separate case. When asked why the police have not cracked the case, PI Patil said that investigations are still in progress.
