Court grants anticipatory bail to accused in Sancoale Church trespass case

The South Goa Sessions Court on Friday granted the anticipatory bail applications filed by Santosh Rajput and Kalidas Vaingankar in the Sancoale Church issue matter.

In separate orders passed by Sessions Judge, Irsha Agha, the Court has directed the police to release the duo on a bail bond of Rs 50,000 each with identical sureties in the event of their arrest.

Public Prosecutor V G Costa informed that that Sessions Court has imposed a host of conditions on the two applicants that they should not visit the area near the Church till the filing of the chargesheet. He further said the duo have been directed to report to the police for a period of 10 days, from 10 am to 1 pm.

The Public Prosecutor further said the two applicants have been directed not to upload posts on the issue.
