The Crime Branch of Goa Police has disclosed that it undertook not one, but two successful raids, cracking two online flesh trade rackets on Saturday, while revealing the details of the second raid only on Sunday after arresting the four accused and rescuing four girls from a hotel in Calangute.
A team of Crime Branch under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (crime and anti-narcotics cell) Karthik Kashyap and led by Police Inspector Dattaguru Sawant, police sub inspector Laxi Amonkar, constables Chandrashekhar Pednekar, Sainath Naik and Kiran Parab and members of NGO ‘ARZ’ burst the online sex racket in Calangute and arrested four people late in the evening on Saturday.
After receiving credible information, police laid a trap on websites such as www.goacallgirls.in, www.suratescorts.in, www.goa.crakers.com and femalescorts.com.
Of the four rescued girls, one was a native of Bangalore, two were from Nagpur and one from West Bengal. The police have attached one Swift DZire car and one Swift car belonging to accused, which were used for transportation.
Among the arrested persons is a 41-year-old Russian national, Natalia Bhalchandra, who is married to an Indian and is presently residing near St Alex Church at Candolim.
Crime branch also arrested Priyanka Sinha (21), a native of Bokaro, Jharkhand and presently residing at Candolim.
The two women are believed to be the agents running the racket.
The other accused include Swapnesh Naik (28), resident of Porvorim and Parshuram Vadar (35), a resident of Curchorem. These two are suspected to be the transporters who drive the girls to the address provided by the customers.
An offence has been registered against the four accused under Section 4 (living on the earnings of prostitution), 5 (procuring, inducing or taking person for the sake of prostitution) and 7 (prostitution in or in the vicinity of public place) of Immoral Trafficking and Prevention Act and under Section 370 (buying or disposing of any person as a slave) r/w 34 of IPC.
