The Government of Goa has sent out directions all departments to deal with "applications" from the GMR Goa International Airport Limited "on top priority" with further instructions to the Heads of Departments (HoDs) to "personally monitor such references.
The Chief Secretary, Dharmendra Sharma in a letter says the instructions are necessary on account of the "evident priority of the project."
"Needless to say that cooperation and support from all the departments is essential for timely implementation of this prestigious project. The construction work of the airport has already begun and GGIAL has already started approaching various departments seeking various approvals and support required for construction of the airport," the letter reads adding that the Prime Minister is monitoring the progress of the project besides the Chief Minister who he says is monitoring the project progress "on a day to day basis."
"If for any reason the disposal (of the applications) is not possible within two weeks of receipt of such applications/reference, then the matter may be intimated to the Director of Civil Aviation," the Chief Secretary notes.
Further the letter warns that in the event of any undue delay, the matter will be mentioned directly to the Secy of the respective Dept and if it is still not resolved it will be brought to the attention of the Chief Secy and the CM.
