Dabolim roads being done up
CORTALIM: RDA Minister and Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha on Thursday inaugurated hot mixing of the roads at Vidyanagar, Dabolim.
Vidyanagar Residents Welfare Association (VRWA) president Edward Fernandes thanked Saldanha for fulfilling the long-pending demand of the residents of Vidyanagar and also appealed to her to construct the footpath from the 4-lane junction to MES College.
Saldanha stated that it was the wish of late Mathany Saldanha to hot mix all the internal roads of Vidyanagar consisting of seven colonies.
She further said the proposal to construct the footpath was under process with the PWD and that the water woes would be solved once the water overhead tank at Zorint-Zuarinagar is commissioned. She assured the residents that the sewerage project for the whole of Cortalim constituency would be done before the Assembly elections.
Sancoale Sarpanch Ramakant Borkar, local panch Sharan Meti, VRWA committee members, PWD officials and residents were present.
Earlier in the week, Saldanha launched developmental works worth Rs 66 lakh in Cortalim constituency such as reconstruction of dilapidated RCC slab culvert at Hollant in Issorcim, protection walls at Ossoilem in Cuelim, Cottar Waddo and repairs to the road near Bhutem junction on the Prial road in Cansaulim.
