Dance Illusion does Goa proud
PANAJI: The students of Dance Illusion - a dance academy by Dr Martin D’Costa represented the State at the debut edition of India Open Latin and Ballroom Dance Sport Championship-2016 at NCPA in Mumbai. The event tested the participants for their skills in Samba, Jive, Salsa, Bachata, Cha Cha and Rumba.
The reigning national Latin champions Seby Gauncar and Ivanna Gomes won gold medals in Samba, Jive, Cha Cha and Rumba. The Goan contingent earned a total of 19 medals - 7 gold, 3 silver, 5 bronze and two 4th places and two 5th places.Neha Malhotra and Deodatta Gajbhiye won gold in Salsa in senior category. Nelson Menezes and Anna Kaarina J Costa won silver (Jive), and bronze in Cha Cha. Cinidia Dias and Rahul Singh won bronze (Jive) in adult category. Agnelo D'souza and Julia D'costa won gold (Waltz) Milroy Quadros and Dr Linoshka D'silva won gold in Cha Cha.
In the junior category Cyder and Cinidia Dias won gold (Salsa), gold (Jive), bronze (Cha Cha) and bronze (Samba). Muskan Prabhugaonker and Mikayla Fernandes won gold (Cha Cha), silver (Samba), silver (Salsa) and bronze (Jive). The event was judged by Watcharakorn Suasuenbpun - former Asian champion and current national champion of Thailand
