MARGAO
Members of a Hindu organisation on late Sunday handed over to the police a resident of Davorlim housing board alleging the person uploaded Pakistan Zindabad slogan on the social media.
While a complaint was later lodged against the person with the Margao police, members of the group demanded an inquiry into the episode to find out whether the youth had uploaded the slogan on his own or at the behest of some organisations.
Viraj Desai told the media at the police station that the group tracked down the youth after they came across the social media message praising Pakistan allegedly uploaded by him.
He said they have handed the youth to the police for further investigation. “We demand that the police investigate the matter seriously to find out the hidden hand, if any, of some organisations,” Viraj demanded.
Margao police station in charge PI Tulsidas Naik rushed to the police station and had discussions with members of the group. Since the youth hail from Davorlim, the police were trying to find out whether the matter falls in the jurisdiction of the Maina-Curtorim Police.
When contacted late night, PI Tulsidas informed that the Margao police will investigate the matter and will register an FIR against the youth later in the night.
