Inquiries conducted by the Margao urban health centre revealed that the minor school boy, who died last week, was not on account of dengue fever.
Sanitary inspector, Eusebio Silva told The Goan that he verified the reports of the death of the minor schoolboy and the hospital has informed that two tests conducted on the boy for dengue had come negative.
“I called up the private hospital to verify the reports of the death of the minor boy. The hospital staff pointed out that two dengue tests conducted by the hospital had turned out negative,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Urban Health Centre Sanitary inspector informed that the centre has intensified its efforts in tackling the spurt in Chikungunya and dengue cases in the city, especially in the Malbhat-Aquem area of the city.
