The two children injured greviously in the Navelim-Bicholim accident continue to be hospitalised at GMC in Bambolim. Their condition is still serious.
PSI Anand Narvekar said the condition of both the injured children continues to remain serious.
Police Head Constable Sitaram Sagun Gawas (42), attached to Ponda traffic cell, and his wife Suvarnalaxmi (38) from Ambegal-Pale, Bicholim, died after the car in which they were travelling from Pale to Chorao collided head-on with an oncoming truck near Mohit Ispat Factory at Navelim-Bicholim on Sunday. The two children of the deceased, Saloni (14) and Shashwat (5), were seriously injured in the accident. Saloni had sustained grievous injury to her liver, while Shashwat had sustained injury to his leg and both had been operated at GMC Hospital in Bambolim.
Meanwhile, the condition of pillion rider Suresh Pawar (16), who was injured in a truck-motorcycle accident at Sakhali late Sunday night, has improved, informed PSI Anand Narvekar.
Vaishnav Vasant Sawal (26) from Kodal-Karapur died, while pillion rider Suresh Pawar was seriously injured after the motorcycle (GA-04-D-1666) on which they were travelling collided with an oncoming truck (GA-04-T-3236) at Gokulwadi-Sakhali at about 12.10 am on Monday.
