Claiming that he had given party leaders in New Delhi a complete briefing of the present political scenario in Goa, South Goa Lok Sabha MP Narendra Savaikar said the BJP leaders were fully aware of the situation and BJP president Amit Shah would take a decision in the matter.
Several BJP leaders have also been to New Delhi in the last few days, but have largely remained tight-lipped and secretive about any developments in the national capital.
On Thursday evening, South Goa Lok Sabha MP Narendra Savaikar and Calangute MLA Michael Lobo arrived in the State from Delhi in two separate flights.
When questioned by waiting reporters, Sawaikar said he had attended a meeting with BJP national president Amit Shah.
“We met our party president Amit Shah on Wednesday. We also had a meeting with party observers who had arrived in Goa. We have given them a complete briefing of the present scenario in Goa.”
“To be honest, they are well aware of the situation and we have had a lot of talks in this matter,” said Sawaikar at Dabolim Airport
Sawaikar maintained there was no question of any leadership change as of now.
“Our Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is availing of treatment at AIIMS in Delhi and he is always our leader. At the same time, any decisions to be taken considering the present political situation keeping in mind the alliance parties as well will be taken by our BJP president Amit Shah,” said Sawaikar.
Meanwhile, Calangute MLA Michael Lobo remained tight-lipped about any development on his arrival at Dabolim airport and claimed he had gone to New Delhi on a personal visit.
“I don’t want to comment anything because I had been to New Delhi on a personal visit. But yes, any decision taken will surely be in the best interest of Goa and Goans,” said Lobo.
