Demand for FIR against Tawadkar, officials

After being booked on charges of locking a PWD engineer in his office, Congress leader Janardhan Bhandari and Goa Forward Party Environment Cell Chairman Vikas Bhagat responded by filing a complaint with the forest department, alleging that Speaker & Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar was linked to the felling of forest trees in connivance with some forest officers.

Bhandari and Bhagat submitted their complaint to Deputy Conservator of Forests (South) Dyaneshwar M Kudalkar and demanded an FIR within 24 hours against the Canacona MLA and top forest officials for felling trees and transporting the wood.

The complaint states the discovery of a huge quantity of unmarked timber at the Carpentry Common Facility-Cum-Production Centre at Idhar-Loliem,

Bhandari and Bhagat alleged that the unmarked wood had been illegally cut and illegally transported.

The two complainants demanded an FIR against Tawadkar and forest officials for the felling and transporting of the logs.

Interestingly, copies of their complaint have been forwarded to the president, prime minister, governor, union minister for environment, forests & climate change, Chief Minister, Minister for Environment, National Green Tribunal and several other officials.
