Demonstration held at Bicholim
BICHOLIM: The National Hindu Movement (NHM) staged a demonstration near the old bus stand in Bicholim to pressurise the government to fulfill their demands.
The NHM members, comprising various Hindu organisations, have demanded an apology from the Portugal prime minister for the atrocities committed on Goans by the Portuguese rulers and during the period of inquisition.
They also demanded security to the Shri Amarnath yatra, withdrawal of tax on stalls, free meals to pilgrims and to normalise the curtailed period of the yatra, stringent action against fanatical youth joining ISIS under the provisions of crime of treason.
Tulshidas Ganjekar highlighted the purpose of their agitation, while Ramkrisha Garde of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Kamlesh Bandekar of Bhaar Swabhimaan, Ramesh Naik of Shiv Sena and Jayesh Thali (HJS) also spoke.
