Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai along with spouse Reetha Sreeedharan Pillai visited Diwar Island as part of " Sampurna Goa Yatra" on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion the Govemor highlighted the unique culture of Goa saying that the people of Goa are good hearted. 

Citing the motto of initiating Sampurna Goa Yatra, Governor said that the real life of people is seen in village. Cities are developing that is good but along with cities villages also have to be developed. People are supreme in democracy and I am very happy to fulfil the duty of serving the people of Goa, he remarked. 

During his visit Governor, PS Sreedharan Pillai interacted with Sarpanch and Panch members of Goltim-Navelim and Mathias-Malar and discussed various issues like ferry service, bandh problem etc. The Governor also assured the villagers to take up their issues with the new government and asserted that he will work hard for the happiness of people of Goa. The Governor offered prayers and took the blessing of Shree Ganesh temple, Navelim. Then he visited the Our Lady of Piety Church, Goltim Piedade Divar and understood the history of that particular Church. Rajesh Phaldessai, MLA; Mario Pinto Sarpanch of Goltim-Navelim Panchayat; Mohan Volvoikar Sarpanch of Sao Mathias Panchayat along with the Secretary to the Governor, Mihir Vardhan, IAS, and senior officers graced the occasion.  Governor of Goa  also distributed financial aid to the Institution Lar Santa Margarita Aged Home, Divar and Om Shree Shakti Vinayak Devasthan and also to one dialysis patient on the occasion.
