Dharbandora man dies of injuries
CURCHOREM: A 30-year-old pedestrian from Dayanandnagar-Dharbandora died after he was knocked down by a truck near Sanvordem panchayat.
According to the police, the truck (GA-09-U-4044) was proceeding from Sanvordem bridge to Dhadem when the truck driver, who was driving without possessing a valid motor vehicle driving license, dashed against the pedestrian, Swapnil Calangutkar, causing severe head injuries to which he succumbed while undergoing medical treatment at GMC Hospital in Bambolim.
Police said the post-mortem report certified the cause of death due to cerebral injuries with fracture to ribs and injuries to lungs. The body was handed over to relatives and police is investigating the case.
