PONDA
Outgoing panchas, Sukhanand Gawade Kurpaskar and Ramchandra Raghu Naik, were in the fray from Ward 9, while Santosh Phadate contested against Balkish Pancham. Ramchandra Naik is also believed to be close to Dhavalikar.
Sukhanand Kurpaskar, who had won the last panchayat election from Ward 1, and Santosh Phadate from Ward 5 have leaped to other wards only because their respective wards were reserved for women. It may be recalled that three-time panch Sukhanand Kurpaskar was defeated in the 2012 election.
