Dhavalikar to move resolution to include yoga in school syllabus

Says it helps maintain good health, mental stability

Minister for PWD Sudin Dhavalikar on Sunday said that he will move resolution in forthcoming assembly session to include Yoga syllabus in schools. “ Yoga helps to maintain good health and also stabilises the mind.” He added.  
Dhavalikar on Sunday while appreciating the efforts of Patanajli Yuwa Bharat for registering record of 1,65,000 Surya Namaskar in Asia Book of Record said that Yoga is very important in life.  
“This is a unique program organised by Patanajali. To strengthen stability of mind and good health we need study of yoga. This can help us to keep ourselves joyful and also take away diseases.” Dhavalikar said.  
“If we want to make our nation prosperous then we will have to take care of our surroundings and our health and also environment.” Dhavalikar said.  
On the sideline of this program when asked Dhavalikar whether he will try to include Yoga in school syllabus, he said that he will move resolution in assembly. “I will definitely move resolution in assembly session appealing government to include Yoga in school syllabus.” He said.  
According to Dinesh Naik of Patanajali Goa, they have prepared syllabus of Yoga to teach from standard first to twelfth. “We have given copy of this syllabus to Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. We had discussed about this with Ramdev Baba when he was in Goa before monsoon. We hope  yoga is included in school syllabus.”
According to Dinesh Naik the members of Patanajli have given training to teachers of Primary School after education department requested them. “We have trained teachers of government primary schools,” he said.  
“We can help government and schools completely if Yoga is included in syllabus. We have all mediums to train teachers,” he said.  
When contacted education director Gajanan Bhat informed that Yoga syllabus has been implemented in government primary schools. “From this year we have included it on trial basis,” he said.
