Former Karnataka Chief Minister M Veerappa Moily has said it is important that educational institutions focus on providing quality education while being inclusive.
Moily was addressing the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Bharatesh Education Trust (BET) from Belagavi which were inaugurated at Halga on Wednesday.
A large number of Goan students are pursuing their higher education in these institutions. A host of events for the Diamond Jubilee year have been planned.
“Education begins at home and flourishes in schools, so it’s important that educational institutions focus on providing quality education while being inclusive,” Moily said.
BET felicitated MLA Abhay Patil, Former MLA Sanjay Patil and Chikodi Sadalga MLA Ganesh Hukkeri among others in India and abroad. Belagavi Rural MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar reminisced the founders of BET and assured her support for social projects. Gopal Jinagouda reminisced about the early beginnings of Bharatesh.
Vinod Doddanavar traced the legacy of Bharatesh, its strengths including a scholarship fund and future plans for the next five years. The Trust has also committed to adopting two villages apart from initiating an award for a person in the field of education, literature, art or social service.
A new logo was also launched. BET Chairman Dr Jinadatta Desai, Secretary Shripal Khemalapure, treasurer Bhushan Mirji, Swati Jog and others also spoke on the occasion.
